Este artigo analisa as contribuições que o Fundo Monetário Internacional – FMI e a Organização das Nações Unidas – ONU deram para a reconstrução da paz no Timor-Leste. O objeto é divisar o acerto da perspectiva dialógica-consensual por meio de organismos internacionais legitimados para construção da paz. Para tanto, o caso do Timor-Leste é analisado para, ao final, concluir apresentando caminhos para estabilização político-econômica em situação pós-conflito que, aposta-se, podem servir de orientação para outros casos, tudo em defesa da dignidade da pessoa humana.
