Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. PUBLICATION GUIDELINES

1.1. For article submission, it is essential that the manuscript under review complies with the Template (author model) provided by the journal. This model serves as the fundamental structure for authors to organize their articles according to the established guidelines, facilitating the submission process and ensuring that texts are properly formatted from the start.

1.2. Manuscripts submitted for publication will undergo desk review and Double Blind Review processes. The feedback will be sent to the author(s) for acknowledgment and possible revisions if necessary. For more information, consult the "Peer Review Process" section.

1.3. Text formatting must follow these parameters: Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing. The maximum number of authors per article is three. If this number is exceeded, please contact the editorial team.

1.4. The article must include: title in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, as well as keywords; abstract, keywords; resumen, palabras clave. Between 4 and 6 keywords should be provided, which must not appear in the title.

1.5. The body of the text must be written in one of the three permitted languages (Portuguese, Spanish, or English).

1.6. For articles to be accepted, authors must ensure grammatical revision of the text and abstracts (including in foreign languages) by a professional with experience in the field. The costs of this revision are the responsibility of the authors.

2. AUTHOR QUALIFICATIONS

Articles submitted for publication in the journal must include at least one researcher with a doctoral degree among the authors. This requirement ensures the scientific excellence and academic rigor of the published works, guaranteeing that the research is conducted and evaluated by highly qualified specialists in their respective fields of knowledge.

3. LANGUAGES

Articles may be submitted in Portuguese, Spanish, or English.

4. REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION

4.1. Article proposals for publication in the Direito & Inclusão Journal must be submitted exclusively through the electronic submission system available on this platform. Prior to this, registration is required using a login and password, which can be created through this link: https://periodicos.unisantacruz.edu.br/index.php/dein/submission/wizard

4.2. Once logged into the platform, the author must click on "Make a new submission" and follow five steps:

4.3. Step 1: Start The author must select the language of submission, confirm that the manuscript meets the required criteria, and agree to the storage of the data to be provided.

4.4. Step 2: Manuscript upload In this step, TWO files must be submitted: one containing the article without author names, labeled "article text," and another containing only the authors' names and details.

4.5. Step 3: Enter metadata Titles, abstracts, and keywords must be provided in Portuguese, English, and Spanish in the indicated fields during submission; The abstract should contain between 150 and 250 words, highlighting the objective, method, and conclusions of the work. The abstract text, written in a single paragraph and in the third person, should be free of direct or indirect quotes, unusual symbols or abbreviations, and formulas or equations, except when absolutely necessary; Data for all authors (in the order they will be published) must be provided: name, surname, email, ORCID id, institution affiliation, and a short bio with brief professional information (maximum of 50 words); Keywords (up to six) should represent the content of the article (in the three indicated languages).

4.6. Step 4: Confirmation Confirm submission completion.

5. ARTICLES RESULTING FROM FUNDED RESEARCH

Articles derived from funded research projects must indicate, in the ACKNOWLEDGMENTS section at the end of the article, the information regarding the research funding.

6. COPYRIGHT DECLARATION

6.1. No royalties or any other remuneration will be due for the publication of the works.

6.2. The authors retain copyright and grant Direito & Inclusão Journal the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, which allows sharing the work with acknowledgment of the authorship and initial publication in this journal. Furthermore, as a public access journal, the articles are free for use with proper attribution and for educational and non-commercial applications.

6.3. Authors are allowed and encouraged to post and distribute their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their personal page) at any time before or during the editorial process, as this can lead to productive exchanges and increase the impact and citation of the published work.

7. AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES

7.1. The authors are responsible for the content published, committing to actively participate in the discussion of the results of their scientific research, as well as the revision and approval process of the final version of the work.

7.2. The authors are responsible for the conduct, results, and validity of all scientific investigations.

7.3. The authors must inform the journal of any conflict of interest.

7.4. The opinions expressed by the authors in the articles are their sole responsibility.

7.5. By submitting the article, the author attests that all statements contained in the manuscript are true or based on research with reasonable accuracy.
